Last Week’s Notes: What's all this stuff about being the EMs having influence over the run's weather? Neither EM bothered to show up and we started in a light drizzle and ended in sunny weather. Go figure... Even without our EMs and our GM (playing Weekend Warrior), we had a decent turnout starting with Co-Hares Bendover Rover and Worm - the former noting, "We set the trail in the rain so you can run in the sun." Joining them were <___>, Ammo, Jolly Green Knob, LeperCon, OB1 and BaliHite. Also there was STBN Jeff - and yet others joined us later! We gathered in the street just above DogRibMoon Park. Ammo appointed himself at the GP, blew the Hash Horn, splashed himself as the Stand-in Wingee and called up the Co-Hares. Rover said the trail was pretty vertical and that there was an A/D Split with A going up and D going down. Before stepping away from the front of the Circle, he noted, "We set the trail in the rain so you can run in the sun." Worm there was a <___> Trap and a Stairway to Heaven. He also that there may be some icey and muddy stretches so we should be careful. Yeah, right - and with that we were off! The TrailIn no time we were scrambling up the hillside along a decent trail with Ammo zooming out in front with <___> and OB1 in close pursuit. Not far behind him were BaliHite with Jolly Green. Diligently covering the rear of the Pack was the LeperCon. STBN Jeff stayed behind to guard the beer. Half way up to the first ridge, we passed a truly remarkable <___> Trap. LeperCon stopped to take a picture and most remarkably found himself yet further behind as the Pack scrambled to the first ridge to catch their breaths at a pavilion before following a ridge trail further up the mountain. After a half kilometer, the Pack found Rover with camera in hand at the A/D Split, where he reminded us "We set the trail in the rain so you can run in the sun." This time no one - not even LeperCon - took the D Trail. So it was OnOn and, of course, UpUp the mountain. At about this time all semblance of an ordered run went to hell - in proper Seoul Hash fashion. Soon hounds were taking short cuts both up and down the mountain only to discover that some short cuts were not exactly short. Since things were so vertical everyone had a pretty good idea where they were at all times. So in due time everyone was back more or less on True Trail and heading down the mountain. Trail conditions were good if at times muddy while the Short Cut Cheating Bastards rewarded themselves by navigating across ice patches on rocks where most hikers had the good sense to stay clear. Without any major slips, everyone made themselves down a muddy, then icey road and around through some soaked tennis courts and UpUp(?) a 2-meter ladder (aka "Stairway to Heaven") and then OnIn. As the Hashers arrived at the Circle they were greeted by Capt Marvel who had shown up in Great Expectations of meeting Kimchi Marine who was rumored to be in town from his new home in Chejudo. Beyond normal expectations was an incredible lasagna courtesy of Jolly Green Knob complete with a green salad thoughtfully balanced with chocolate covered mini doughnuts - the latter a perfect compliment to beer. The CircleGP Ammo called the Circle and did the Hash Benediction with BaliHite at his side as the Hash Hooch. Calling up the Co-Hares he asked for comments that included, "Free ice skating," etc. Rather than telling a song or a joke, the Co-Hares regaled us with the previous evenings ramblings around Jongro - but only after Rover pointed out that "We set the trail in the rain so you can run in the sun." The Co-Hares agreed that the asshole who preceded all other assholes on this run was none other than OB1 as this run's Wingee. The GP than ran through the Categories starting with Returning Hashers. First up was <____> who told an Irish joke about two Paddies, a decapitated priest and a surprised landlady. Next up was BaliHite back from his travels to France and Taiwan. He thoughtfully brought back a bottle of French wine that he generously shared with the Circle. Next was Ammo reappearing from his stay in Washington. He presented the Circle a genuine can of Miller's Lite Beer - now in a patriotic red, white & blue can (wow, oh, wow).

Next up was LeperCon as a Newly Paid-up Hasher who told a joke and skipped away not paying the Hash Cash - a reckoning coming his way to be sure. Capt. Marvel then stepped forward and in true Action Hero form tore open his his jacket to reveal a Kimchi Marine Hash shirt in commemoration of KM making it to the Hash. Alas! as luck would have it, KM was nursing an incoming cold in the good company of EM Shitonya with his own outgoing cold at some Itaewon hooch with, of course, hooch. We also had a Paid-up Guest, STBN Jeff who was brought out by Jolly Green. About this time, long-lost Shillea appeared from the bushes in search of beer for which alone he splashed. Following which the wayward wondering Hasher was asked by the GP which way he felt like going, and sure enough it was Way Down South. Following our SHHH Anthem, we dealt with putting out the fire which was a bit of challenge since the Circle had taken place in a public park near a major housing project So as to get around the open flame issue, DODIC Master's office trash can had been requisitioned to serve as our fireplace. Tipping over the red hot trash can resulted in what may be the first ever Mexican Trash Can Dance as artlessly performed by Jolly Green Knob and others. It was then OnOn to Itaewon's MMT Club and elsewhere.
