Last Week's Run: 1649
|
Last Week’s Notes: The late afternoon skies and for once the winds had ceased as GM Plug and Play, Nightcrawler, DODIC and Mini-DODIC (STBN Trent), BaliHite, LeperCon, Rawhide and Homeless gathered on the east side of the Hangang Bridge island park. The GM called a circle, sans Hash Horn, and called for last week's Wingee. <...> was not in attendance so long-gone and just re-relocated back to Korea MicroSoft stood in as the Wingee for which he was splashed. Hares Homeless and Rawhide were called up to give trail instructions. They promised markings in yellow and blue chalk and often maked with an arrow and the initials "HR" so as to avoid possible confusion from other Hashes' trails. The pack was told they would find marked falsies, checks and plenty of hills, steps and dogs. While there would be no A/D split, there would be plenty of opportunities for SCCB's (short-cut cheating bastards). For their efforts and explanations the two hounds were properly splashed. The hares then pointed south across the bridge, but wait! LeperCon scampered in front of the pack for some shots since he was tired of taking photos from the rear. After suitable mugging, the pack was off in earnest. The Trail: The trail took a left at the end of the bridge and most of the pack charged up the hill only to discover they were no longer on trail. Backtracking to near the bridge entrance, they found the trail leading down to the jogging track heading eastward. A short distance later, the trail moved off of the improved trail and followed a parallel course on the earthen bank. Almost a kilometer later, the first check - a chalk circle surrounding the base of a warning sign offered the first choice of going up to higher street level or further in the same direction as before. It turned out to be the latter - but not for long when the trail took a sudden right-hand turn and up several steps to an apartment complex. The complex's parking lot served as another check and pack loitered until the true trail was discovered leading out to the main street and then across into urban housing and of course OnUp into the hills. Our hounds found a particularly steep street hugging a large park above and then yet further up to a rise where a store stocked with beer tempted our hounds with an unofficial beer check. Denying their thirsts, the hounds bounded down and then up to another rise to a park that offered steps further up a sunset viewpoint of the Seoul to the north across the Han River. It was then down through a claustrophobic alley between houses with barking dogs on both sides and out at last at the bottom of the hill on to a congested street with Saturday shoppers crowding sidewalks in all directions. It was then back up on to an opposite hill covered with homes. Near a crest, a falsie was discovered sending the pack down to a check mark chalked around a street pole undetected on the way up. The true tale was found leading the pack along a main street at the base of a hill to a double check chalked around two street poles. Thoroughly confused, the pack split up with OB1 taking the option of continuing along the street and up a small hill. At the top of the hill OB1 faced back at the rest, turned around and disappeared. Sometime later the rest of the pack discovered that OB1 alone was on true trail and gave chase to OB1. The trail took the pack along the back of Jungang University and then took a sharp right turn to skirt along a contour of a hillside. Eventually the trail meandered down on the opposite side of hill DownDown into a small commercial district and then over to a housing area before making the final descent down to the south entrance of the HanGang Bridge. From there it was OnIn back across the bridge to DODIC's Island of Death. |

The Circle:The returning pack found fried chicken as well as Rover and EM ShiTonya awaiting them. DODIC and Nightcrawler immediately "cut a chogi" and were gone. Finally even LeperCon straggled into the site and the GM called for a circle around a fire. Following the benediction by EM ShiTonya, the Hares were called up to account for themselves and were splashed after a few comments - all fairly positive about the trail. The Wingee was declared to be OB1 since one, he was still present at the fire; two, Ammo was not there to compete for the honor; and three, DODIC had already left for the evening. Such is life with the Hash. While being recognized as the run's Wingee, OB1 was also recognized with the Hash Shit for inadequately signaling back to the rest of the pack at the last check. Such are the penalties of the Hash. OB1 chose not to sing a song or tell a joke but rather relate a true incident that took place on the Monday evening following the last run when his wife asked him over dinner at a restaurant if he truly loved her. Naturally replied in the affirmative and asked why the question. To which she presented the two condoms she had found in his clothing that ShiTonya had foisted upon him while at Tokori. After a couple of days OB1 was able to convince his innocence to his Love of His Life. To which ShiTonya retorted, "Do I now have to hand out printed instructions whenever I give someone a condom?!" In any event it was clear that some peoples' love lives are the punch lines. Newly paid up hare was Rawhide who announced his Farewell Run will be on Dec. 7th. Newly paid up guest was MicroSoft who was a charter member of the Full Moon Hash before departing from Korea. Well, he's back and for a good while. He was brought out by our GM. All others - TwinCheeks, LeperCon, BaliHite, Rover and the GM were given a chance to tell a joke. TwinCheeks and ShiTonya asked for permission to go to Fuck-you-okay (Fukuoka) for the sumo basho next weekend and LeperCon asked the same to go to Singapore but promised to be back in time to hare next Saturday's run with Capt Marvel. Homeless reported he was off Monday back to Dacca and then OnOn to Azerbaijan as one of Her Majesty's favorites in the Foreign Service. Since we didn't know when we would see him again, the GM asked him where he wanted to go. To which he replied, "Way Down South!" It was then OnOn to the Silkroad where the second round of beers there was paid by Gunter of the Three Alley's Pub down the road. Almost as surprising was TwinCheeks showing up to send Homeless OnOn along the ever-changing Hash Trail. |
